VETERINARY SUPPORT TO THE CZECH ARMY

Veterinární služba je již více než pět let nedílnou součástí systému vojenského zdravotnictví AČR. Přesto je doposud složkou obecně poměrně málo známou i mezi příslušníky vojenské zdravotnické veřejnosti. Následující sdělení si klade za cíl obecně popsat a více přiblížit současnou vojenskou veterinární službu s důrazem na hlavní cíle a úkoly, organizaci řídicích a výkonných prvků, rozsah jejich působnosti, hlavní oblasti činnosti v míru, za krizových stavů i za války. Dále jsou v článku blíže popsána některá specifika činnosti veterinární služby u jednotlivých druhů vojsk.

The Veterinary Service has been an integralpart of the Czech Army health service system for more than 5 years. In Spite of this it is a component that up to now has generally not been very well known even among military medical public personnel. This article seeks to describe generally and to elucidate the present Military Veterinary Service with stress on its main aims and tasks, the organization of its managerial and executive components, the extent of their effect, and the main area of its activities in peace time or during crisis or war. Some specific features of the Veterinary Service's activities concerning different kinds of troops are described in more detail in this article.
