MASTER’S STUDIES OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND MANAGEMENT AT THE SECOND MEDICAL FACULTY OF CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE

V České republice dosud neexistuje v soustavě vzdělávacích programů obor zaměřený na magisterské studium veřejného zdravotnictví a managementu pro absolventy zdravotnických a humanitně orientovaných bakalářských programů, kterých je akreditováno již několik desítek. V současné době se na 2. lékařské fakultě UK vyučují bakalářské obory optiky a optometrie, fyzioterapie a je dokončována příprava bakalářského studia ošetřovatelství, laboratorní metody a zobrazovací metody a aplikace ionizujícího záření. Pro školní rok 2003/2004 jsme zažádali o akreditaci studijního programu Veřejné zdravotnictví, studijní obor Veřejné zdravotnictví a management. Uvádíme požadavky na uchazeče o studium, cíle studia, náplň studia a podmínky, které musí student splnit v průběhu studia. Uveden je profil absolventa a jeho všeobecné, odborné a speciální vědomosti a dovednosti. Z toho vyplývá i charakteristika profesí a instituci, kde mohou absolventi uplatnit získané vzdělaní.

There is no study branch in the system of educational programmes focused on master’s studies of public health and management for graduates of medical and art bachelor programmes in the Czech Republic. There are already a few dozen of them accredited. At present the following bachelor study branches are taught at the Second Medical Faculty of Charles University: optics and optometry and physiotherapy. Preparations for bachelor studies are being completed in the following areas: nursing, the laboratory method and the depicting method and ionizing irradiation application. For the school year 2003/2004 we have applied for accrediation of the public health service study programme which is part of the public health and management study branch. Requirements for study applicants, study aims, study contents and the conditions which must be met by students during their studies are mentioned. A profile of the graduate, his or her general, professional and special knowledge and skills are also mentioned. From these profiles a characterization of professions and institutions where graduates can apply the education gained can be obtained.
