TOPICAL INTERCONNECTION AMONG RESEARCH, THEORY AND PRACTICE AT THE INSTITUTE OF HYGIENE AT THE JESSENIUS MEDICAL FACULTY OF COMENIUS UNIVERSITY IN MARTIN, SLOVAKIA

Pregraduálna výučba predmetu Hygiena po reštrukturalizácii od šk. r. 2001/2002 sa koná v odbore všeobecné lekárstvo (VL) a v odbore ošetrovatelstvo (OŠ), v 10. semestri pre posluchačov VL (12 hodin prednášky/24 hodin praktika), v 2. semestri (18 hodin prednašky/18 hodin praktika) pre poslucháčov bakalárskeho i magisterského smeru OŠ a v 1. a 2. semestri (12 + 12 hodin prednášok) v externej forme štúdia ošetrovatelstva. Aktuálne prepojenie výučby a praxe sa realizuje v systéme terénnych stáží na ŠZÚ v Martine a vo vybranom zdravotnickom zariadení - ambulancii alebo škole. Aktuálne prepojenie výučby a výskumu je zrejmé počas stáží z hygieny výživy: posluchači vyhodnocujú svoj výživový režim, ale i rizikové faktory životného štýlu, ktoré sa zúročujú vo výstupoch grantov riešených na ústave. Spätná väzba hygienickej praxe na výučbu je aktuálna aj v priebehu konferencii (Martinské dni hygieny), kde sú každoročne prezentované výsledky z výskumu lekárskych fakúlt a z hygienickej praxe ŠZÚ. Účelové publikácie - zborniky z konferencií — tvoria odporúčanú literaturu pre posluchačov v predmetoch Hygiena a Zdravie a výživa na JLF UK v Martine.

Pregraduate education in hygiene (after restructuralization in the School year 2001/2002) is carried out in two study branches: general medicine and nursing. In the 10th Semester for students in the general medicine study branch, hygiene education consists of 12 lessons of lectures and 24 lessons of practical exercises. In the 2nd semester for students in the bachelor and master's nursing study branches, it consists of 18 lessons of lectures and 18 lessons ofpractical exercises, and in the 1st and 2nd semesters for students in the external form of nursing study branch it consists of 12 lessons of lectures in both the 1st and the 2nd Semesters. The topical interconnection between teaching and practice is carried out by a system of terrain study stays at the State Medical Institute in Martin and in a selected medical facility — an out-patient department or school. The topical interconnection between teaching and research is obvious during the study stays in nutritional hygiene: students evaluate their nutritional regimen but also the life-style risk factors - the results are seen in the  utputs of grant projects carried out at the Institute. Feedback between hygienic practice and teaching is also topical during conferences (Martin’s Days of Hygiene) where the results from the research of the medical faculties and the hygienic practice of the State Medical Institute are presented annually. Special purpose publications (proceedings from conferences) are part of the recommended literature for students of hygiene and health and nutrition at the Jessenius Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Martin.
