PILOTS HIT IN-FLIGHT WITH LASER BEAMS

V posledních letech byla zaznamenána řada případů náhodného i záměrněho ozáření posádky letounu laserovým paprskem. Jedná se sice o nepříliš častou, ale pro bezpečnost letu i zdraví letce závažnou událost. Piloti, jejichž zrakový orgán byl během letu zasažen laserem, by měli být poučení o nutnosti odborného vyšetření útvarovým lékařem a následně leteckým oftalmologem i v případě, že nemají subjektivní obtíže.

Recently a number of accidental or intentional illuminations of flight crews with laser beams have been recorded. These are, no doubt, rare but serious events both for flight safety and for the aviators' health. Pilots whose visual organs were hit with a laser during a flight, should be informed of the necessity of a special examination first by a flight surgeon and then by an aviation ophthalmologist even if they have no complaints.
