Gunshot Crus Wound with a Percusion Revolver Causing Arteriovenous Fistula
Daniel Dobeš, Robert Čáp, Zdeněk Bělobrádek, Jiří Feix, Tomáš Lutonský, Jan Zahradníček
VZL 2004, 73(3):81-84
The authors present a case of arteriovenous fistula caused by crus wound with a percusion revolver. This case report is interesting because venous injury was not diagnosed during the primary surgical treatment. But it was diagnosed later on after the operation when the complicated course of the operation required angiographical examination. This examination confirmed pseudoaneurysm and fistula findings between a. tibialis anterior and v. poplitea. It was solved by the operation. Pseudoaneurysmorhaphy and removal of fistula were performed.

Modeling of Small Arm Projectile Penetration Through a Steel Plate
Ludvík Juříček, Pavel Novotný
VZL 2004, 73(3):97-106
An armoured-piercing effect of a small arm projectile is analyzed by this article. The small arm projectile penetration through a homogenous armoured plate of limited thickness was calculated by several available mathematical models and simulation tools. These methods were used before the ballistic experiment was conducted. This article discusses prediction of the impact behavior of a common small arm armoured-piercing shell immediately after the impact on a steel armoured plate of different thickness. The results of mathematical models and numeric simulations were compared with experimental results from ballistic tests of 7.62×39 PZ caliber projectile...

VZL 2004, 73(3):107-115
Male NMRI mice were used to test the influence of orally administered prophylactic mean PANPAL on acute toxic effects of tabun and to compare its efficacy with the commonly used pyridostigmine by means of protective ratio evaluation. The effect of antidotal treatment of acute tabun poisoning which depends on the choice of anticholinergic drug or the addition of anticonvulsive drug was compared in the same way. Then the reactivating efficacy of selected oximes was tested on Wistar rats using evaluation of the percentage of tabun-inhibited acetylchollinesterase reactivation in blood, the diaphragm and in the brain of poisoned rats 30 minutes after poisoning...
